Total Party Kill?

A very sneaky dragon has used illusion magic to get behind the party to ambush them! The elf is suspicious, probably because of his pointy ears. Least that's how I imagined it. This is an old test piece I did for Dragon Magazine, back in the day (1999). This one's only 22 years old. I wasn't accepted. At some point I scrubbed out the fighter's face to repaint it, but never got round to it. I might repurpose this painting for one of my games I am working on and paint his face in digitally using Krita. For now, I'm posting it's acrylic form, raw. Inspired by the works of the legendary Larry Elmore, who created my favourite dragons when I was growing up.
